Greetings!

Within All Saints there are a wide variety of ways to engage in the life of this community... and all of them have room for you if you're interested. This week on our blog I wanted to give you a sampling of how you can become more involved in the life of this community, along with a brief description of what that group does.

Feel free to have read and if you'd like to learn more, or get involved in one of these activities, speak with one of the clergy, or call the church office. We will get you connected with the various ministry leaders who coordinate these activities.

The Rev. Dr. Bob Honeychurch

Interim Rector

P.S. Tomorrow is 4th of July and the Church Office will be closed.  Enjoy the holiday!

Social Media Sunday "Liked" by Parishioners at All Saints and Around the World

Leslie Huber and Heather Childress send a Tweet!

All Saints was a buzz last Sunday, both in the Sanctuary and online! Parishioners at both services were posting to Facebook and Tweeting . . . all with the permission of Father Bob, of course.  It was a great time to join with Episcopalians from around the country and Anglicans from around the world to share our faith online (and connect with those of younger generations!).

movieAll Saints Film Festival Comes to a Close

All Saints highly successful Summer Film Festival comes to an end this week.   During the last 5 weeks our popular selection of titles has drawn eager crowds to a Parish Hall transformed into a movie theatre, complete with professional sound, HD projection, fresh-popped popcorn, Red Vines and soft drinks.
If you're thinking of joining us for the final movie this week, Fried Green Tomatoes, why not take the opportunity to enjoy the Eventide service and dinner on the lawn immediately preceding the film?  There is no charge, though donations towards food costs will be gratefully accepted.

Life in Christ with the Prayer
of St. Patrick

A four week class regarding our personal interaction with the Prayer of St. Patrick will be offered after Eventide Worship and Dinner on the following Wednesday evenings: July 30, August 6, 13, and 20.  We will meet in the Parish House at 7:15 p.m.  The simple Prayer of St. Patrick suggests an intimate relationship with Christ in a context of proximity or situation.  Discover what this might mean for you!  Family and friends are welcome.  The class will be led by the Rev. Vicki Mouradian.

Book Group to Meet July 14book

All Saints' Book Group will meet next on Monday, July 14, to discuss The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History by Robert M. Edsel with Bret Witter.  Focusing on the eleven-month period between D-Day and V-E Day, this fascinating account follows six Monuments men (a special force of American and British museum directors, curators, and art historians) and their impossible mission to save the world's great art from the Nazis.  The movie adaptation of this book was the kick-off movie in this summer's film festival.

Join us for a wonderful evening of fellowship as we delve into this exciting and dynamic book.  We will meet at 6:00 p.m. in the Parish House for potluck and discussion.  Please bring a dish to share and a beverage of choice.  All are welcome.  If you have questions, please contact the Rev. Vicki Mouradian at church, 969-4771.

Excitement Mounts for Pageant of the Masters

With less than threeweeks to go, we have sold over half our tickets for our trip to the Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach! We have twelve tickets left for this outstanding summer event on July 20. Join us for a light lunch following the 10 a.m. service, luxury coach to and from Laguna Beach, entrance and viewing of the festival art, dinner at the Tivoli Terrace, live music on the grounds, and the performance of the Pageant in an outdoor theatre. The Pageant is known for its "living pictures" in which classical or contemporary works of art are recreated by real people who are made to look nearly identical to the originals.

Those not attending morning church services are welcome to join the group for lunch at noon (Parish House) and the rest of the day's events. Family and friends are welcome! Sign-up forms are available at the Information Table after services or in the Church Office. You may contact the Rev. Vicki Mouradian at 805/969-4771 with any questions. Your payment confirms your reservation. Tickets are $125 each and may be purchased by cash, check, or credit card (online payment is available).

All Saints Helps St. Mike's in GIVE Sale

All Saints member David Boyd and St. Michael's Tony Luu receive a certificate from GIVE coordinator Viviana Marsano
All Saints volunteers worked at an Isla Vista yard sale to benefit St. Michael's Episcopal Campus Ministry at UCSB last month. Eight All Saints parishioners including their friends and relatives were 'in the trenches' during June 11-20 organizing and sorting a vast array of "stuff" donated by departing students and then helped with the sale June 21-22. Six St. Mike's parishioners also participated in this project. The net proceeds of the sale were divided among participating I.V. non-profits in proportion to the number of hours donated by volunteers for each non-profit. St. Mike's received a check for $3,043.68 for its share of the proceeds which will be used to fund campus ministry programs. Thank you to those who volunteered for this hands-on outreach work!
